Outdated scholarship and a typically over-confident 19th century attitude, but there are some good overviews of Native American myth in this book, if you aren't hung up on the accuracy of the details. The overall thesis is a reductive account of how every myth can be understood as describing the movements of the sun. One of the more plodding books I've ever read. Even an interest in myths and history of native cultures wasn't enough to make this one enjoyable. Beyond that, as others have said, it's more than a little outdated.
